Julian has learned that there's always one thing. At any given time, there's always one thing-or person-standing between him and finding some goddamn peace and happiness.

Now he's graduated from law school only to start at his new firm and find that honorary position filled by none other than Juniper, his sister's best friend, and more importantly, the pain-in-his-ass currently sitting at his assigned desk.

Working with Juni is a nightmare. She's stubborn, challenges everything he says, and is to blame for the ten pounds he's gained from the delicious creme-filled cupcakes she brings into work daily. Most annoyingly, though, she's damn good at her job, and when he begrudgingly asks for her help with a project, Juni asks for a favor in return: the number of Julian's old college roommate, Noah.

Julian agrees, but late nights working together at the office result in a turning point in Juni and Jules' relationship. And when Noah bails on being Juniper's date for an event she was already nervous to attend, Julian surprisingly finds he's more than happy to step in, even if he would never let Juni know it. Even if it's just...fake.

And that's when he learns how fine the line is between something-or someone-who keeps him from happiness...and someone who is his happiness.
